A familiar Hilliard landmark is about to undergo a dramatic transformation. The former Kenneth's Hair Salons & Day Spas location at 3610 Fishinger Blvd. — a staple of the Mill Run shopping corridor for years — is slated for demolition as the property moves toward redevelopment following the salon's relocation to the new TruePointe mixed-use district on Trueman Boulevard.

Kenneth's Hair Salons & Day Spas, one of Central Ohio's most recognized regional salon brands, has signed on as a tenant at Hilliard's $200 million TruePointe development. The company will occupy 10,500 square feet inside a 19,600-square-foot building it will share with a second, as-yet-unnamed tenant.

"We are excited to be part of the TruePointe development and to bring our world-class salon services to the Hilliard community," said Kenneth's President Jody Achatz. "Kenneth's has long been a pillar of the Mill Run community and this move aligns perfectly with our vision of providing our clients with a truly exceptional experience."

The new flagship space will allow Kenneth's to debut upgraded equipment, enhanced atmosphere and improved service systems — a step up from its longtime Fishinger Boulevard home. The company operates 10 locations across Central Ohio, including salons in Upper Arlington, Dublin, Powell, Polaris, Westerville, New Albany, Pickerington, Grove City and Columbus.

Fishinger Blvd. Site Faces the Wrecking Ball

With Kenneth's departure, the 3610 Fishinger Blvd. property — situated within the aging Mill Run retail complex — is expected to be cleared to make way for new development. The Mill Run area has faced increasing pressure in recent years as anchor tenants have thinned and the broader retail landscape has shifted. The departure of a long-standing draw like Kenneth's is seen by observers as accelerating the timeline for redevelopment of that corridor.

While specific redevelopment plans for the former Kenneth's parcel had not been formally announced at press time, the site sits within a stretch of Fishinger Boulevard that city and private developers have identified as a priority for revitalization. Hilliard officials have signaled interest in transforming portions of the Mill Run area into mixed-use or higher-density commercial and residential uses consistent with the city's broader growth strategy. Residents and local business watchers are encouraged to monitor announcements from Hilliard City Council and the city's planning and zoning commission for formal project filings.

TruePointe Takes Shape

Meanwhile, the TruePointe development — located on Hilliard's east side along Trueman Boulevard — continues to attract high-profile tenants. The 27-acre, 15-building project will ultimately deliver hundreds of thousands of square feet of retail, restaurant, office, lodging and residential space when fully completed.

Confirmed tenants and components include:

- Kenneth's Hair Salons & Day Spas – flagship salon and day spa

- Qahwah House – specialty coffee shop

- Advanced Drainage Systems – new corporate headquarters

- Home2 Suites by Hilton – four-story, 115-room hotel

- Drunch Eatery + Bar – all-day brunch restaurant

- Brick House Blue – fifth coworking location

- Tempo Apartments – 360-unit residential complex

TruePointe will also feature new public gathering areas, green space, trails, sidewalks and multiple parking garages. The full development is expected to be completed by the end of the year.

"This signing is a testament to the strength of our project and the growing demand for high-quality retail and service offerings in Hilliard," said Patrick Wathen, president of Equity, the project's developer.
